ABOUT
XÍNG ZHOU 邢洲 (b. 2000, China) began his creative practice in film after graduating from the University of Toronto, where he majored in Theatre & Performance. His early short film Misty Northern City explored themes of urban solitude and spatial dislocation. His 2025 work, To Mare Moscoviense, explores the complexity of human conditions and relationships.
He is currently pursuing an MFA in Film, Video, New Media and Animation at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, under the mentorship of Christopher Sullivan and Anahita Ghazvinizadeh. His thesis film, Falling Birds at Dusk, explores memory, identity, and emotional projection through two surreal journey structures, incorporating a pigeon’s aerial perspective as a “neutral lens” to navigate human complexity and spatial uncertainty.
